Aliza Gans, daughter of Rich and Jenny Gans, became a bat mitzvah on Rosh Chodesh Adar. Family and friends helped her celebrate with a pizza party February 26, 2017, at Congregation Beth Abraham in Bergenfield. The purple- and silver-themed décor provided a colorful background to Jodi Senter’s lively ruach and entertainment. A purple and silver candy dessert buffet added to the sweetness of the day. Aliza, a sixth-grade student at the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey, is an avid baker who loves to help in the kitchen. She put her skills to work in a chesed/learning project in honor of her bat mitzvah. She coordinated a bake sale to raise money and buy gifts for the Bergen County Chanukah Toy Drive and also learned the halachot of hafrashat challah.
