NJ Realtors Names Cliffside Park’s Robert Oppenheimer as 2017 President

On December 6th 2016, New Jersey Realtors, the trade association serving more than 48,000 members, named Robert Oppenheimer, of Cliffside Park, its 2017 president during their Centennial Gala and President’s Installation at its annual Realtor Triple Play Convention. Also installed were president-elect Christian Schlueter, of Lacey; first vice president Ilene Horowitz, of Rockaway; treasurer Jeffrey Jones, of Parsippany; and Tg Glazer, of Westfield, who will serve as immediate past president. Oppenheimer is the only Bergen County broker on the State Association leadership team.

“It is a huge honor to serve as president during New Jersey Realtors’ centennial year, and I appreciate your confidence and support as I lead the association”, Oppenheimer said during the installation to approximately 300 guests.

Among Oppenheimer’s goals is to advocate for private property rights and helping to protect homeownership. Homeownership is the foundation of strong communities and Realtors are a key entity in helping neighborhoods prosper.

Oppenheimer is the broker/owner of RE/MAX Fortune Properties in Englewood Cliffs and has been a Realtor since 1986. He served as president elect in 2016 and first vice president in 2015 for New Jersey Realtors. Oppenheimer has served in numerous chair and committee positions for the association including the Risk Management & License Law Committee and Legislative/Political Affairs Committee (both as vice chair). In 2014 and 2015 he was on the Federal Financing & Housing Policy Committee and Certified International Property Specialist Advisory Board.

On the local level, he served as president of the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors for four years and was named their 2010 Realtor of the Year.

He has served on and chaired numerous committees and working groups on the local level.

Additionally he has served as a director for the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service.

Oppenheimer is a graduate of New York University and has earned three Realtor designations; The Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Certified Residential Specialist and the Certified International Property Specialist.

He has consistently been a top producer in sales and rentals attaining RE/MAX Platinum awards, Hall of Fame Award, Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the Distinguished Service Award considered the highest honor a RE/MAX associate can achieve.

The Realtors Triple Play Convention & Trade Expo is the largest annual real estate event in the region, offering real estate professionals premier access to distinguished speakers, educational opportunities, trend analysis and more.
