Camp Mesorah and Team Yachad Hold Inflatable Run 2016

Last week, Camp Mesorah hosted its annual Team Yachad 5K run. To start off the exciting day, campers and staff participated in an Inflatable Run. Giant inflatable obstacles were spread throughout the campus and hundreds of little runners bounced, bumped and jumped all over camp. Everyone received special Yachad sunglasses, t-shirts and sweatbands.

This wacky and fun run was a great way to show support for Yachad. Camp Mesorah is proud to partner with Yachad to host both the Camper-Integrated Program, where Yachad members, along with the help of a shadow, are integrated into mainstream bunks and the Vocational Program where Yachad members live in their own bunk with specially-trained counselors and participate in a variety of jobs around camp.

Following the fun-run, there was a traditional 5K race for Mesorah’s older main campus divisions, teens, staff, and Yachad members. Many have been training since the beginning of camp for this major event. Yachad programs from camp Morasha and Lavi also joined the run this year. After months of preparation, this is the largest fundraiser for Yachad and enables campers to have a fun and meaningful integrated summer.

Mazel tov to Zachery Greenberg, Yachad staff member from Bergenfield, who came in second place overall in the 5K and to Ezra Seplowitz, from Teaneck, who came in first place for campers. A tremendous amount of unity was displayed throughout camp and truly epitomized what it means to be inclusive.
