In honor of Lag B’Omer the children at the Iris Berman Early Childhood Center heard stories about Rabbi Akiva and Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and put into practice some of what they heard. They were extra kind to each other as they experienced building their own bonfire in the park. They found rocks, put them in a circle, and then gathered twigs and arranged them in a pyramid shape — and a real bonfire was made! The children helped add sticks to it and then roasted delicious marshmallows. Rabbi Mischel sang songs and shared more stories with the children in celebration.
