JEC Lower School Spends Lag B’Omer at Warinanco Park

The sun was shining and a pleasant breeze kept students cool as the JEC lower school enjoyed a fun-filled day of school spirit and achdut on Monday in celebration of Lag B’Omer.

All of the grades, including both the early childhood and elementary departments, converged on the scenic Warinanco Park and participated in an array of games, sports, golf inflatables, brand new playground features and races, which even the faculty participated in, including Principal Rabbi Uzi Beer!

The JEC’s three Israeli shlichim Oz, Duli and Stav from the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest hosted a special Israel-themed booth that included interactive games and activities and every grade was dressed in different color T-shirts, symbolizing the keshet. It was beautiful to watch the children understand how together they formed a united rainbow.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ lunch with watermelon for dessert and ended the day with an innovative string hunt throughout the area.

“It was a day filled with great energy, enthusiasm and camaraderie, “ said Lower School Assistant Principal Mrs. Faigy Leiter. “The students and faculty all left the park smiling from ear to ear!”

Special thanks to JEC parent Arielle Ness for accompanying the trip and taking beautiful photos.
