Bruriah Graduates Another ‘Million Dollar Class’

Bruriah’s twelfth grade graduated last Sunday as a “million dollar class.” Although the sum seems amazingly high, it wasn’t the first time the school’s graduating class earned that moniker, which references the dollar amount of academic and merit scholarships awarded to students by accepting colleges each year. Indeed, with a world-renowned reputation for excellence and a track record of success, both in and out of the classroom, Bruriah’s students have demonstrated what it means to “make your mark”— the school’s call to action to contribute and achieve, both academically and personally.

In line with the JEC’s philosophy of encouraging at least one year of study in Israel following graduation, the majority of graduates will continue with a year of seminary at: BJJ, Bnot Torah Institute (Sharfmans), Darchei Binah, Machon Ma’ayan, Machon Ra’aya, Machon Shoshanat Yerushalayim, Meohr Bais Yaakov, Michlalah, Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim, Midreshet HaRova, Midreshet Moriah, Midreshet Tehillah, Midreshet Torat Chessed, Migdal Oz, Nishmat, Sha’alvim for Women, Tiferet and Tomer Devorah.

The million dollars in awards money comes from the following colleges to which graduating students have been accepted:

CUNY—Baruch College, Brooklyn College, City College of New York, College of Staten Island, Hunter College; John Jay College; Brandeis University; Drexel University; Macaulay Honors College; Montclair State University; New Jersey Institute of Technology; New York University; Ocean County Community College; Pace University School of Nursing; Princeton University; Queens College; Ramapo College; Rutgers University—School of Art and Sciences, Rutgers Business School, School of Environmental & Biological Sciences, School of Engineering; SUNY- University at Albany, Binghamton University; Fashion Institute of Technology; Rockland County Community College; Stern College for Women—Stern Honors; Stevens Institute of Technology; Stockton University; Touro/Lander College for Women—Touro Honors; Union County Community College; University of Maryland.

A special mazel tov to Rivka Hirsch of Passaic, Bruriah’s graduating valedictorian, and Batya Stein of Highland Park, salutatorian.
