The Jewish Link of New Jersey and Gotham Burger would like to recognize 15 year old David Lewis as this week’s Sportstar of the Week. The SAR High School student is a Track n Field star.
Lewis’s teammate Adam Weiss told The JLNJ, “David has won multiple New York City races and is very speedy.”
David, who is your role model?
Stephen Curry because he is a family man and has a breathtaking three pointer. He’s able to manage a successful life on and off the court, whether he’s with his family or shooting treys in the gym.
Who is your favorite athlete?
Usain Bolt because of his long and difficult strides to greatness. Usain Bolt is the most courageous, brave, durable, valiant, plucky, fearless and resilient person I’ve ever watched on television.
What is your pregame routine?
I start with my morning stretches and climbing stairs, while listening to my favorite singer, Lipa Schmeltzer.
What is your earliest sport memory?
I was 6 ½ years old and I was playing badminton with my best friend Asaf Miller. Asaf is a true warrior and fierce competitor as he’s a much better athlete than me, but I ended up being victorious. Asaf showed great sportsmanship towards me, as he let me win knowing I was the weaker opponent.
What is your funniest sports memory?
I was at my brother’s flag football game and I tripped in a ditch in front of a small crowd. Although it was very embarrassing I laughed it off. Looking back on this event this was my funniest sports memory.
What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing sports?
My favorite activity when I’m not playing sports is either reading or making lemonade stands, and the money we get from the lemonade stands goes to charity
What is the best thing about being a Sportstar?
I’ve always wanted to be famous one day. Being recognized as a Gotham Burger sports star of the week I’ve finally accomplished my goal in becoming famous.
