RPRY Basketball Teams Complete Undefeated Seasons

In a thrilling end to the regular season, RPRY boys’ basketball defeated Hillel by the score of 71-65. Playing before a packed gym, RPRY jumped out to a 14-5 first quarter lead. Hillel kept the score close and, trailing by three in the fourth quarter, Hillel made a three-pointer with less than a second left to force the overtime. In overtime, RPRY, led by the three-point shooting of Jason Bick and Uri Ostrin, and the inside play of Ethan Thurm and Elli Krul, outscored Hillel 15-9 to secure a hard-fought victory. With its tenth straight win, RPRY finished its regular season in first place in its division with a record of 10-0. The team now heads to the playoffs.

The RPRY Panthers girls’ basketball team (7-0) also took on their division rival Hillel Heat (7-1) before a packed gym at RPRY. The game started out close, but RPRY’s stingy defense and good shooting led to a 13-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers continued to play well throughout the game and were able to cruise to a 35-22 victory. With the win, the team is undefeated, 8-0, as they, too, have clinched a spot in the playoffs and will work to finish the regular season with another division title.
