Gildin Named Among Top 40 Effective Fund Raising Consultants

Teaneck—Norman B. Gildin, President, Strategic Fundraising Group LLC, has been named among the top 40 effective fund raising consultants in the country. The announcement was made in Fundraising Digest Weekly, a weekly newsletter of Fundraisinginfo.com, a source for fund raising research that reports on philanthropic news in the U.S. and around the world. Gildin was listed in the #12 slot.

Michael Chatman, host of #WHYiGIVE and a prominent voice on philanthropy on radio and on Twitter, released the list of “America’s Top 40 Most Effective Fundraising Consultants.” The list was compiled following interviews with 250 leaders of charitable organizations.

Gildin thanked the not-for-profit charitable institutions that proffered this unique privilege on him. “It is the not-for-profit organizations and private sector philanthropists that provide essential support—financial and sustaining—for those who need our help. If in some small way I have been able to contribute to the betterment of those less fortunate or those in society that need our help, then I feel the better for it.” Concluded Gildin, “My hope is that our efforts to rally the philanthropic community to those in need are indeed effective and consistently successful.”

Norman B. Gildin is a highly experienced fund raiser who is guided by principles of strategic planning that have been the hallmark of his success. His background encompasses the four major types of fund raising—annual campaigns, building fund and capital campaigns, planned giving and endowment fund giving. Strategic Fundraising Group LLC (SFG), which Gildin founded, exists to enable not-for-profit agencies to implement effective fundraising programs.

SFG specializes in helping not-for-profit agencies organize, plan, coordinate and execute campaigns that will help them achieve their financial goals. SFG was established to give the small fundraising shop to the large one an opportunity to engage a firm that adds sophistication to their operation. SFG provides the resources and the capability to organize or undertake indispensable tasks that provide fruitful fundraising results especially during challenging economic times.

SFG is also providing non-profit institutions with opportunities to educate their development executives, administrators, lay board members and volunteers with innovative ways to raise essential funds that keep their organizations in the black and prosperous. A new and expanded service of SFG was recently rolled out offering not-for-profit organizations one-on-one mentoring services for professionals and lay leaders, as well as targeted seminars for small or large groups.

Gildin says the times we live in require creative fundraising solutions to offset continuing shrinking revenues by government and third-party reimbursors. “More than 657,000 not-for-profit organizations nationwide, or a little over 55%, have revenues of less than $1-5 million. The National Council of NonProfits indicates that the non-profit sector is made up primarily of small and midsize organizations. Of all filing nonprofits, 82.3% have expenditures of less than $1 million.”

Stated Gildin, “These organizations often have scarce resources and therefore need to seek out new and imaginative, as well as traditional, fundraising solutions.” This is what SFG offers its clientele.

Gildin continued to say, “The growth rate of the nonprofit sector has surpassed the rate of both the business and government sectors. Thus, more not-for-profit agencies competing for fund raising dollars are in need of new, creative and cost-efficient ways to raise essential revenue for their organizations.”

Gildin maintains that not-for-profit agencies and organizations that take care of clients and consumers with disabilities or with conditions that limit their activities of daily living must be up to today’s financial challenges because these folks depend on them. “Furthermore, this holds true for schools, museums, religious institutions, social service agencies, health care institutions and others who also need to remain fiscally solvent in difficult times.”

“Donors also are rightfully concerned with being ‘battered’ by competing charitable organizations, and we have to be astute enough and sincere enough to reassure them that their significant support is possible and absolutely essential as they stretch their fund giving dollars.” Concluded Gildin, “I am proud that our firm lives up to these high standards.”
