TABC Distinguished Scholars Hear From Upperclassmen

As the sophomores in TABC’s Distinguished Scholars Program prepare to embark on their research projects, they were privileged to hear from six juniors and seniors who recently completed the program. Each upperclassman presented a three-minute overview of the research he conducted while in the program, including the topic he chose and how he approached the research process. The sophomores got tips on how to juggle their course load with their additional independent research projects as well as how to structure their data collection calendar. The upperclassmen also elaborated on their interactions with their mentors, highlighting their importance of providing resources, guidance and direction in choosing and researching their topics, which spanned a wide-range of disciplines. The session ended with a Q&A and pizza was served.

TABC’s Distinguished Scholars Program is a two-year independent honors program, culminating in an in-depth research project in a discipline of students’ choosing. The program is under the guidance of science department chair Deniera Goldenberg and Rabbi Shaya First.
