Frisch Dinner Honors Those Who “Connect”

Paramus—The Frisch School’s annual dinner will take place this Motzei Shabbat, February 8, 2014, at the Marriott Glenpointe in Teaneck. The dinner’s theme is to celebrate the many ways that people choose to ‘connect with Frisch.’ A 600-student, co-educational, Modern Orthodox high school based in Paramus, Frisch seeks to provide an excellent college-preparatory education for students in both Judaic and general studies.

The connections that Frisch values the most are the human connections which occur every day in school, as students interact with their peers, their teachers and the administration. These relationships last long after the students graduate, as evidenced by the many alumni who return to visit school year after year to reconnect, as well as the alumni who choose to send their own children to Frisch. These connections are the threads that weave the Frisch School family together.

This year Frisch will be honoring several extraordinary people whose connections to Frisch have helped shape the yeshiva. They have made the Frisch School a priority in their lives in such ways as presiding over the board of trustees, leading the Frisch Parents Association, or by serving as distinguished Frisch faculty, communal role models and alumni.

The guests of honor are Jeanette and Martin Heistein. Amy Albalah will receive the Nedivat Lev Award, and Maren (Steinberger) ’97 and Robbie Scharf  ’93 will receive the Alumni Recognition Award. Phoebe Weisbrot is being given the Rav Shlomo Kahn Memorial Educators Award.

The connections forged at Frisch extend beyond the bricks and mortar of the state-of-the-art campus to the universities and communities in which Frisch graduates settle. It extends to the photos shared on the Frisch Chesed Society Instagram account, and to the connections with alumni on its Linkedin page. The Frisch YouTube channel has become a powerful tool to allow visitors to tour the Frisch hallways during Shiriyah, and many members of the Frisch family follow the school on Facebook and Twitter to take part in what is going on at Frisch on a minute-by-minute basis.

People continuously choose to connect with Frisch because it seeks to engender an environment where young men and women grow religiously and academically in a supportive and challenging way. It is an environment in which students thrive as they are guided and mentored by outstanding teachers and administrators who help to set the standard for yeshivot everywhere.

The community is invited join the Frisch School family in showing ha’karat ha’tov to these individuals who have given of themselves, working to make Frisch an exemplary yeshiva that places each student at its center while achieving academic excellence in both Judaic and general studies.
