BPY to Hold 18th Anniversary Scholarship Walkathon

(Courtesy of BPY) The Ben Porat Yosef (BPY) 18th Anniversary Scholarship Walkathon will take place on Sunday, June 16, at 9:30 a.m. at Winton White Stadium in Englewood. This event is the culmination of our critical efforts to raise funds for BPY’s scholarship fund, which enables BPY to invest in the Jewish future by offering an outstanding education to all students, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The theme for this year’s BPY 18th Anniversary Scholarship Walkathon is “Walking on Sunshine.” Along with raising critical funds for BPY, we will be celebrating the energy, happiness and resources the sun provides. Students are learning valuable lessons connected to our “Walking on Sunshine” theme. The walkathon is a fun family activity that will feature the family walk, races, giveaways, activity booths and food.

“The BPY Walkathon is an event that combines all the very best of BPY. It is a display of chesed in which the whole school works together to raise scholarship funds so that no one who wants a precious Jewish education is denied because of financial circumstances. Our students, parents, lay and professional leadership all encourage and rally each other for a noble cause. In the end, the awesome beneficiaries are our children—the bright futures of our community and beyond,” said Rabbi Saul Zucker, head of school.

At BPY, we are strongly committed to our mission, which includes building a warm, caring and devoted community by instilling in our children the importance of performing mitzvot. The walkathon is an excellent way of showing our school’s camaraderie, teamwork and dedication as we work together to assure that all families can receive a BPY education.

“Having tuition assistance allows us to provide a quality and meaningful Jewish education to our children, to instill a love for Israel and ensure full Hebrew immersion. We would not be able to do so without this help,” remarked a recipient of BPY’s tuition assistance.
