JCRC Celebrates Year-End Dinner

(Courtesy of JCRC) On a recent Wednesday evening, JCRC held their year-end dinner honoring Bruce Brafman for his exemplary service, upon completing his two-year tenure as JCRC chair. During the program, the JCRC thanked Bruce by mentioning the many accomplishments during his tenure and noting the strong impact he has made as JCRC chair.

Over 40 people were in attendance, including JCRC members, elected officials and friends of Federation, as well as Bruce’s wonderful family. Speakers highlighted the many successes the group has shared over the past two years: FedTalks; menorah lights; flag raisings; and increased engagement with legislators, law enforcement and other elected officials; as well as memorable meeting with members of clergy through the Legislative Advocacy program. The attendance of several local legislators was a testimony to the strength of the relationships built between JCRC and local officials.

During the dinner many spoke about how through Bruce’s chairmanship, the Federation’s JCRC was able to raise its profile to become a leading voice in combating hate and bias on behalf of the community.

JCRC was also fortunate to introduce and welcome Dan Shlufman as the incoming JCRC chair. Jason Shames shared warm remarks and mentioned Shlufman’s the many achievements and talents that he brings to the organization.
