OHEL Seeks to Interview Children/Teens From Divorced Homes

Five years ago OHEL Children’s Home and Family Services produced a groundbreaking video “Rising from Divorce,” which was seen by thousands and addressed the need for children of divorce to not be caught in the middle.

Coupled with a national awareness campaign and screenings in many cities throughout the United States, Israel and beyond, OHEL also compiled The OHEL Divorce Resource Book for Educators and conducted teacher training and educational seminars nationwide. The purpose of this was to help better meet the psychological, social and behavioral needs of children of divorce in the school environment.

As a direct response to the feedback received from the community, OHEL is now following-up on a second video that tells the story from the perspective of the child who was brought up in a home of divorce.

OHEL is now looking for such individuals who feel they can valuably contribute in reflecting on their story, offering first-hand accounts, insights and advice to peers and to divorcing/divorced parents. They prefer to have several young men and women ages 13-18, which would require the consent of both parents.

Through this video, OHEL hopes to provide comfort and support to children of divorce and help further ensure that parents do not allow their children to be caught in the middle.

Those interested should please contact Derek Saker, OHEL Director of Communications at [email protected] or 718-686-3333. All confidentiality is assured.
