(Courtesy of The Idea School) On December 18, The Idea School and Institute held its first dinner gala at Space, in Englewood. The evening was held to benefit the Miri Farkovits (z’l) Education Fund and to recognize the school’s builders and founders. The Idea School and Institute recognized Jodi Scherl, board chair, Jordan Shenker, CEO, from the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades, Roberta Abrams, president and Jason Shames, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey with the Nachshon Ben Aminadav Award which represents their courage, innovation and risk taking as they helped open The Idea School in 2018. The dinner continues to raise funds to support the Miri Farkovits (z’l) Education Fund whose goal is to raise two million dollars to name The Idea School in Miri’s memory. The evening was enjoyed by many guests that included friends, community members, parents, faculty and of course, students.
