JFS MetroWest Works to Reduce Stress With ‘Back-to-School Series’

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest NJ understands that back-to-school season is a hectic and stressful time for parents and children each year, as certain transition points in school can be particularly challenging. To help alleviate some of the anxiety, JFS is pleased to announce that it is offering a “Back-to-School Series.” If your child is transitioning into kindergarten, middle or high school, we have informative and free workshops to prepare you and your children for what lies ahead. The workshops will take place each evening August 22 through August 25 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the JFS office located at 256 Columbia Turnpike, Suite 105 in Florham Park.

On August 22, we are hosting “Letting Go—Your Child Is Off to Kindergarten” for parents of children entering kindergarten. On August 23, we invite parents and children entering middle school to “Reducing Middle School Stress.” “Navigating the Ins and Outs of High School” on August 24 is for parents to attend with their 9th and 10th graders. On August 25, JFS invites students entering their junior year of high school to attend “Surviving the Pressures of Junior Year of High School.”

All workshops are open to the community and are being offered free of charge. Each program will be facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from our Child and Adolescent Department, specifically trained to deal with the unique needs of children and adolescents. For more information about the workshops or to register, please call 973-765-9050. For more information on JFS Child and Adolescent Services, please visit our website at www.jfsmetrowest.org.
