JEC Lower School Names Bonnie Drazen Assistant Principal

(Courtesy of JEC) After an extensive search, the Jewish Educational Center announced that Bonnie Drazen will be joining the JEC family as its new general studies assistant principal.

“Mrs. Drazen is an excellent addition to our team,” said Rabbi Uzi Beer, JEC principal. “Mrs. Drazen’s expertise, warmth, student centered approach and ability to connect with people will benefit our parents, teachers, students and administration.”

Drazen will be joining JEC’s incredible administrative team beginning this summer. “Mrs. Drazen brings an enthusiasm and love of learning that will at once educate and inspire all of our students,” added Beer.

Drazen comes to the JEC after serving as the Think Tank director at the Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva in Edison, where she guides teachers in differentiation, integration and project based learning. She prides herself on creating an inclusive environment that engages all types of learners.

“I am very excited to join the JEC family and to contribute to the development of every student,” said Drazen. “I believe that we never stop learning, and that this is one of the most important principles to teach students, because it means that no new concept or task is too difficult to tackle.”

Prior to RPRY, Drazen was the assistant principal at Yeshiva at the Jersey Shore for four years where she guided general studies teachers in the creation and execution of progressive, developmentally appropriate curricula.
