Orthodox Forum of Edison/Highland Park to Present Lecture on Women in the Holocaust

The Orthodox Forum of Edison/Highland Park presents Ruth Lichtenstein on motzei Shabbat, February 17, at 8:15 p.m. at Ahavas Achim. Lichtenstein will share actual accounts of women in the Holocaust. She is the publisher of Hamodia, the largest Orthodox newspaper in the world, and Binah Magazine, a magazine for women. She is also the founder and director of Project Witness and the editor-in-chief of Witness to History, the landmark, highly acclaimed text that presents a nation-by-nation history of the Holocaust. Jill Dispenza, program coordinator for The Lifelong Elizabeth Program, under Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, today announced that a “Walking Safety Presentation” will take place on Thursday, February 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Elmora Branch Library, 740 West Grand Street in Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Police Department Sergeant Brian Clancy will provide participants with tips on walking safely and the benefits of wearing safety vests. Each attendee will receive a free safety vest, courtesy of a grant from the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, the Grotta Fund for Senior Care and Jewish Family Service of Central NJ.

The presentation, and the Lifelong Elizabeth Program, is made possible through a generous grant from the Grotta Fund for Senior Care. Lifelong Elizabeth is a community-led, city-endorsed initiative that aims to make the city an age-friendly community that is a great place to grow up and grow old.

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ is a nonsectarian health and social service agency with a history of over 100 years of providing a vast array of personalized services to 7,000 individuals a year in Union County.
