Unthinkable mass synagogue shootings in Pittsburgh and Poway.

Nikki Haley, arguably Israel’s greatest U.N. defender, steps down.

Not one, but two razor-thin close elections in Israel within five months of each other.

Democrats, meanwhile, work to maintain their party’s historic backing of Israel with the party’s fringe left threatening that support.

Rep. Josh Gottheimer co-sponsors a House resolution condemning the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement.

A local community speaks out against the reading of an anti-Israel children’s book at a Highland Park Library.

  1. 5779. These were just a small sample of headlines printed in The Jewish Link of New Jersey this year.

The Jewish Link covered your family, your neighborhood, community and kehillah. We kept you, our loyal readers and advertisers, on point when it came to news of Israel as well. Not all stories in our publication are “big” stories. Sometimes the most important story in our readers’ lives is seeing a child’s name scoring the winning goal in a hockey game or a hoop in a basketball game.

Sometimes it’s the achievements of our children in school and in yeshiva.

But then there are the difficult pieces. The Pittsburgh and Poway coverage or the loss of Jewish life to terrorism in Israel.

We want to thank you again for reading us and supporting our wonderful advertisers.

Let’s look forward as we stand before Hashem these Yomim Noraim to a year of a secure Israel, and a 5780 of Torah growth, good health for our loved ones and achdut for our entire community.

Shana Tova!
