Torah Live Looks to the Future With New Director of U.S. Operations

(Courtesy of Torah Live) As more North American schools and communities incorporate Torah Live into their programs, the innovative Jewish educational film company has opened its first American office in order to spread excitement about Torah and mitzvot to children and adults.

Torah Live’s new director of US operations is New Jersey resident Yitzchak Schultz. Schultz will work to expand Torah Live’s presence in Jewish day schools across North America, in addition to building relationships with donors and partner organizations.

Harnessing technology and media for the transmission of Jewish learning, Torah Live has created a curriculum unique to Jewish education, yet familiar to today’s tech-savvy students. On par with today’s films and internet movies, Torah Live’s 100 hours of programming teaches this generation everything from mitzvot like emunah, netilat yadayim and shatnez to the middot of smiling, leadership and overcoming anger and jealousy.

Rabbi Dan Roth, founder and director of Torah Live, praised Schultz’s leadership in the Jewish community over the past 18 years and added, “I am delighted to welcome Yitzchak to our growing dream team. Since Torah Live has become a worldwide provider of high quality multimedia material with over 950 shuls, schools and outreach organizations enjoying our material around the world, we need to provide improved service to our worldwide users. With much of our Torah Live staff in Israel, a full-time US-based staff member will expand our reach, activity and, God willing, success across North America.”

Schultz comes to Torah Live from the Monsey-based organization, Yedei Chesed, which serves individuals with disabilities and their families. He has also served as director of institutional advancement for the Jewish Educational Center (JEC) of Elizabeth, the executive director of the Community Alliance for Jewish Cemeteries in New York, and regional director for BBYO.

Rabbi Roth noted, “In each of his positions, Yitzchak exponentially increased community support and involvement. We look forward to his continued success, as he helps to promote Torah Live’s unique program across America.”

Torah Live has received the backing of Torah leaders and scholars worldwide, including Rabbi Hershel Schachter, Rabbi Lord Jonathon Sacks, Rabbi Meir Golwicht and Rabbi Yitzchak Berkovits. According to Rabbi Berkovits, newly appointed rosh yeshiva of Aish HaTorah and president of Torah Live, “Torah Live has been received exceptionally well in schools and centers around the world and has been successful in teaching complicated areas of halacha, even to students who otherwise experience difficulty in maintaining an interest in these subjects. With the new US office, Torah Live can reach many more people and spread excitement about Judaism far and wide.”
