CareOne at Teaneck Is Now Certified Under CRC-Hisachdus

(Courtesy of Care One) As of Tuesday, September 24, CareOne at Teaneck, located on Teaneck Road in Teaneck, is now CRC certified in addition to already being Star-K certified and completely cholov yisroel and pas yisroel. CareOne at Teaneck is a subacute rehab facility that offers 24 hours of skilled nursing and rehabilitation for both short-term and long-term care. There is also availability for short-term respite. CareOne at Teaneck has state-of-the-art equipment, including an Alter-G anti-gravity treadmill and an in-house Passport pharmacy machine, which helps ensure that patients get their medication, including pain medication, as soon as possible. There are specialty clinical programs and on-site MD specialists including cardiac, pulmonary, orthopedic, oncology, infectious disease and neurology with onsite physician consults. They earned a five-star rating from the centers for Medicare and Medicaid services after their most recent survey. CareOne at Teaneck strives to provide the highest level of care in a frum environment. There is a shul in the building and a rav on staff. The entire staff is sensitive to the needs of frum patients.

On Shabbos and Yom Tov there are minyanim and Kiddush with chulent and kugel. There is a men’s mikvah in the area at the Lubavitch shul. If family members want to stay near the facility for Shabbos or Yom Tov there are local frum community members in walking distance who would be happy to host them. Throughout the year there are activities related to Yomim Tovim with students from local yeshivas. On Sukkot there is a sukkah and a Chol Hamoed carnival open to the community; on Chanukah there is candle lighting every night and yeshiva students who come and sing Chanukah songs. On Purim there is Megillah reading and many community members come dressed in costumes to dance and sing with the residents. On Pesach there are sedarim, and on Lag B’Omer there is a bonfire outside with music. The list goes on and on.

CareOne at Teaneck decided to add a second hechsher when a chasidic patient from Rockland County came to be closer to the hospital for treatment. The patient did not eat any of the food, since there was no chasidic hechsher at the time. After some research, CareOne at Teaneck found that in between Rockland County and the northern New Jersey and Manhattan hospitals there are no rehab facilities that make food in their kitchens under a chasidic hechsher. If a chasidic patient wants to go to a rehab facility and not eat pre-packaged meals and wants to be in a frum environment with a rav, a shul etc. they must travel all the way back to Rockland County. All the traveling back and forth to the hospitals in northern New Jersey and Manhattan can be very taxing on the patient. In addition, some patients want to be close to their doctor in the hospital. The facility is located right over the bridge from the Manhattan hospitals and is very close to many of the northern New Jersey hospitals. CareOne at Teaneck is sensitive to the needs of the chasidic community and is there for them in their time of need.
