TABC Celebrates Shavuot at Home and Across the Community

On Motzei Shabbat, the first night of Shavuot over a 175 students came to TABC to participate in the annual Tikkun Leil Shavuot program. Talmidim from outside of Bergen County made it a point to stay in the Teaneck area in order to be able to join in this special evening. Having so many students from different areas really enhanced the program. It was an incredible night of learning, camaraderie and food. The beit midrash was hopping all night with the sounds of many chavrutot! While many were learning in the beit midrash, there were also shiurim on a variety of topics from many of the TABC rebbeim. A special thanks to Rabbi Nachbar for giving his marathon shiur that covered one topic over the course of the whole night. Students were truly lucky to have TABC available, as it allowed the talmidim to experience a Shavuot in their yeshiva. At various points throughout the night the talmidim were treated to ice cream, iced coffees, Chickies, Dougie’s and of course unlimited snacks.

TABC Torah was not limited to the school building over chag. For the sixth year in a row, over Shavuot, TABC’s rebbeim presented a series of shiurim for adults in Teaneck and Bergenfield. This year’s talks were hosted by Congregations Beth Abraham, Keter Torah, Beth Aaron, Bnai Yeshurun, Ahavat Shalom and the Young Israel of Teaneck. Each presentation was a variation on the theme of “Torat Chaim: The Living Torah—Nefesh Bri’ah B’guf Bari: A Healthy Body and a Healthy Mind.” Topics included: Mind Over Matter? Oneg Shabbat as a State of Mind; Mindful Mitzvot; Yishuv Hada’at, Talmud Torah and the Contemporary Assault on our Children’s Attention; Taking on Chumrot: Healthy Religious Growth or Not? It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to experience the high level limud hatorah that their children are privileged to benefit from every day. TABC thanks Cedar Market, Judaica House and the Leben Family for generously sponsoring this program and many TABC families for dedicating individual shiurim.
