Frisch Records Back to Back Shutouts

For the first time since its inception, Frisch registered their second consecutive shutout with a 4-0 win over East Side.

Judah Volodarsky opened the scoring by going 200 feet, coast to coast for a shorthanded tally four minutes into the game. The second period saw some very physical play leading to five Frisch power plays and two for the visitors, however, neither team could convert with the extra man. Ezra Csillag made it 2-0 on a nifty backhand/forehand move to beat East Side goalie Gabe Miranda with 3:02 left in the second period.

The Cougars came out much stronger in the third period when Volodarsky netted his second goal on a nice feed from Jack Margolius who finished with three assists. With just over 11 minutes left in the third, Volodarsky would complete his first varsity hat trick, off an Aiden Sholomon rebound four minutes later to ice the victory. Ezzy Wachstock made 17 saves in heavy traffic, and recorded his second consecutive shutout.

It was a raucous crowd at Mackay on Sunday night, thanks to all the visiting alumni and the boys and rebbeim from nearby Yeshiva Ohr Simcha. They were treated to an entertaining and physical affair that saw the Cougars outhit their division rival Raiders, thanks to some big body checks by Jack Fischer, Jacob Weisman and David Schenker.

Next up for the Cougars is a trip to The Arena at Bayonne High School on Saturday night.
